Rick Ross shows some serious presidential Love

(On a side note) I realized this was suppose to be a fashion blog, but without a working camera it's kind of hard to take pictures of my outfits. Now it's kind of about silly things that pop into my head. but that's ok.
(On a REAL note)  So the other day I was over at my friends place and they were watching music videos. I don't like most music videos, or at least the one's that play on MTV, but for Rick Ross I make an acceptation. Mosty because he's from Miami, and is the most mainstream dude to do so. And in this video I'm noticing how tatted up he is and get a glimmer of... Abe lincoln on his chest. Baffled I think, no it's something else but then, on the other side of his chest he has a picture of George Washington. DAMN this is one patriotic drug dealer turned rapper. This pictures aren't great but in both he's almost pointing at his beloved presidents.
Top picture- Washington is in the upper right on his chest.
Bottom Picture - Don't get distracted by the beautiful body or the scarface boxers but Lincoln is on the left almost shoulder area.
Hope you like it!

Oh fuck. Bing is the shit!

I forgot to write about this earlier. But. www.bing.com is the shit. The commercials are a little annoying but the website itself  is wonderful. It's exactly what it claims to be. It's much better than google but I'll keep my gmail forever. It narrows things down  a lot and also if you put your curser over it, it'll give you a preview. If it's a video, it'll play a clip of the video, if it's a picture it'll give you more info of the picture and make it a little bigger & if it's a website it'll tell you the lines surrounding your subject. I have no idea if that was coherent at all but check it out none the less.

Oh so faint..

So, yesterday I fainted! The only other times I've fainted were more like passing out from heat in the mountains of Colorado during the summer. Yesterday I was at some pizza/chicken/ ice cream/sandwich shop. Not the classiest place I've been but times are hard. I was waiting for a pizza and started to feel dizzy. Then my vision whited out and I fucking passed out. I said " I don't feel well" to my boyfriend and about two minutes later " Did I fall down? On the ground!?" Then got up and almost ran to the car, out of embarrassment. I didn't have time to say "oh woe is me" or any other classy line and there wasn't even a nice little fainting couch, just the sidewalk with gum & cigarette butts. Granted me fainting is probably my fault. Poor outfit choice. I wanted to take a picture of the outfit, but didn't get around to  it. I was wearing a thin long sleeve shirt and a sweater vest with a  high-waisted belt (probably too tight). It was rainy a little (like every other day this summer) so I thought it would be cold. But it was super hot and I was too stubborn to change. I thought my outfit was super cute. Very nautical. So.. I fainted on a sidewalk in Brooklyn. Thats about it. Today I bought a dress. Tomorrow is 4th of July.
That's all.

Desktop OCD Summer

Ello, ello... Soo I got this new desktop picture like four days ago. I had Lil' Kim's mug shot up for a few weeks.  I like the expression on her face and also the fact that her face actually looks like a face unlike how she looks now. She just looks kinda bad ass, I have no idea why she's getting this mug shot taken. But this picture I got off ffffound.com  and I thought it would cheer me up. It convinced me to go to the aquarium, which is exactly what I did today. The New York Aquarium is in Coney Island and I went out there and to be honest, wasn't super impressed. The coolest thing was the jellyfish. I took a bunch of pictures of Jellyfish but I have to upload them. I guess that's all, don't go to the NY Aquarium.

My New Love

I just read about DJ Tamara Sky at Missbehave. I have no idea why I haven't heard of her before. She's a DJ in Miami and was in the Mexican and American Playboy. I've heard some over her mixes and they are pretty good. There are a lot of lady DJ's out there that are very beautiful but can't DJ for shit. She is not one of them so look her up.

Not Cool

I'm not really one for celebrity gossip but this is so not cool. NAS AND KELIS ARE GETTING A DIVORCE. I am so upset, more and more my idea of true love gets shit upon. I am a romantic, no gonna doubt it, but this life is making very hard for me to continue to do so. They are way too cute together and are like a power couple. boooo divorce.
Sorry I know it's tacky to whine about famous couples relationships.

Desktop Warrior

So world I've been going through some bullshit recently as I mentioned my dear friend Teeps died, and I've got other shit too. So.. my desktop is suppose to inspire me to be strong and be badass. I've had it for a few weeks actually. I haven't stumbled upon anything better. I think almost anything having to do with martial arts is badass, well it is.

gimme a j-o-b.

I need a job. I can do whatever. I live in NYC. I don't know if people actually read this but if u do.. hire me..

A russian man had a two inch fir tree growing in his lungs. How fucking silly is that. Apparently he went in for surgery to remove what they though was a cancerous tumor and it turned out to be a fucking TREE!!!! They said he swallowed a seed as some point. well, here's the x-ray and for more info click here. That's something odd and should lift spirits, it did mine at least.

Rest peacefully sweet sweet Emily.

One of my best friends just got murdered. If that's not an incentive to be intoxicated I  don't know what is. I won't be writing for a while.

Funk the War

I'm part of a organization called Students for a Democratic Society, SDS. We had this campaign recently that was called funk the war and it happened of the 6th anniversary of the Iraq war. It's suppose to be like a moving dance party. This is everyone that showed up for the march, which was kinda sad. But a lot more people showed up for the concert afterward, the camera I was using died though. So, it's a lot cooler than I made it sounds just there. I spray painted my little boys aqua t-shirt and got flowers painted on my face.
And made a bomb playlist.

Loosing Steam

Sorry folks, if it seems as if I am loosing steam. Recently I have been super busy and have lots of work and blah blah sooo my bad. I think I might be getting sick. My throat feels like it closing up a little bit. Which sucks. Besides that, everything is normal. I'll start putting stuff up.

Mas Outfits (#4)

Here are some pictures of Sally's photo shoot. My friend is trying to build up her photography portfolio and I am her model, I prefer muse, but I don't think I can actually make that claim. and I feel really uncomfortable  making over-confident statements. So.. In these pictures I am wearing; blue skirted pea coat, it was my moms and she took all the buttons off and decided she didn't like it, but I love it. From random store in yonkers, NY. Also the gold circle necklace is from my sister. Black leggings-anywhere. Purple tanktop from U.O. so is the brown bag and white peeptoe wedges are from a thrift store in Rutland VT. Sunglasses are from a dollar store in MA. I like the pictures more than I like the outfit. I hope you enjoy.

Dade County

Hello world! So I'm on my spring vacation and I went back home to Miami. I haven't been here in 2 years. I missed it so much and I am sooooo happy to be back. So I will be m.i.a. until I get back to Brooklyn. This picture was on the roof of my apartment building before I moved. Have a wonderful week!

Desktop OCD3

I guess I have three outfits and 3 desktop pictures, I'm not trying to be congruent. congruent? It just so happens to be that way, so either I should post more outfits or change my desktop more often. Well here is my new desktop... and I'm super excited to go back home for spring break and I haven't been back in about two years. So I put on something cheerful, hooray! I found this picture on polanoid a long time ago and just haven't used it yet. So today, or last night I changed my desktop while doing my hours of random searching and I hope it puts you in a better mood too.

I was a dancer all along

I really like Lykke Li. Sometimes I debate wether her music gets too popy or to happy, but then I just let it ride, and I like it. My favorite song of hers is Dance, dance, dance and you should listen to it.  Also I like the song I can't get this trumpet out of my head, it's very different from the rest of the album. Her album is called Youth Novels. I definitely am one of those people who becomes obsessed with a band or artist and plays them constantly for a few weeks and then moves on. I do hold many dear to my heart and then when I hear them again after a long time, I always get nostalgic for that time, or something like that. So in a few months or years, when I hear Lykke Li I'll remember right now.

Numero Tres

Here is outfit number 3, kind of. At my school we have this formal called Snowball and everyone gets super dressed up and dances to bad music. They had a swing band playing that was awful, but later in the night a DJ came on that wasn't too bad. I got the dress for christmas from my sister and, actually everything besides the shoes are from my sister Omie. You can't see my shoes but I was wearing metallic gold flats. I just bought them that day at the Adams Rescue mission and they were in perfect condition. Also gold/diamond earrings and my necklace has the names of my family members on it. Sorry that this is the least informative outfit post, but I'll try to make the next one better. As for my silly face, I was getting my dance on so don't hate.

Show tonight

ello ello. As usual I will be having my radio show tonight @ 7pm on 91.1 wzbt. There's two links in the side bar, both of them should work. I hope you listen and enjoy it.

Squeaky outfit AKA little pockets

So here is the second installment of outfits. I've been wanting to do more outfits, but I have to find someone to take my picture and then use their computer to upload it cuz my computer is full. Since I am a mac person and I'm using Sally's pc, it took me an hour to figure out how to upload a picture off the camera. Hopefully I'll get the hang of it. I'm wearing; all black chucks by converse, grey chords from U.O. , faux leather jacket from a random store in Yonkers and a red bow in my hair that my sister made. Now the problem with the outfit is that the chucks squeak and the chords make a funny sound when I walk also the top zippers in the jacket are just for show and the pockets it does have are only big enough for a phone and nothing else. The pockets in the chords are only big enough for my keys, therefore this is the squeaky/little pockets outfit.

Cute but all these items shouldn't be worn together unless I'm planning on having only my phone and keys. I hope you like it.

Jump off Lincoln

OK, so I go to school in a town that is all about Lincoln. The diner I go to is called LD's or the Lincoln diner, I have friends that live on Linclon st., there's a statue of him in the center of town, a woman I work with has a silk picture of him above her fireplace. So you get it. And although yeah he freed the slaves, people forget his reasoning for this. It wasn't exactly out of the kindness of his heart, it was bound to happen anyway. Point being I already wished people would jump off lincoln's dick and then I read this article. Ugh please, pick someone else to obsess over.

Happy Valentine's Day

I hope that everyone had a happy valentine's day. I had a wonderful one. I went to Baltimore, I had never been there before. Little known fact Baltimore is the STD capital of the U.S. go figure. In my absence my friends got smashed at a 14shots party. I hope there's more parties this weekend but I guess I'll have to wait and see. Right now I want nothing more than to nap. My computer is acting up and hindering me in putting up posts, but I'll keep trying.

Great Video

My friend sent this video to me and I forgot to listen to it for two weeks or so. The other day my friend Sally and I decided to watch youtube videos, which I rarely do. So I figured we should watch the videos I'd been sent, none of which I had watched. They were all so great and it was great to see that my friends had picked such excellent videos to send to me. So this one is off of Animal Collective's new album and the song is my girls. check it!   The picture is the album cover.

P.s. I can't seem to figure out how to post the video, so click check it and you'll be redirected. sorry

Another installment of desktop OCD

This is my desktop as of three days ago.  Over the holiday I was in Time Sq and I saw this huge billboard ( as all are in time sq) and it just said "War is Over Love, John and Yoko" and recently I stumbled upon this picture of them holding this sign. I guess we are all trying to find some peace and hopefully this desktop will inspire me to do so.

Something else that's super cool

I haven't written anything in almost a week. There is a reason for this, I've been wanting to put up pictures of my room but can't get it clean enough to take pictures of it. I do want to keeping posting things regularly though. So upon my search for random cool things I happened to stumble upon this which is fucking awesome. it Allows you to connect several different outputs; stereo, ipod, speakers, etc. It can fade music and shows you what song is coming up next and it looks like a tape. personally I'm a sucker for anything in the shape of a tape, boombox, turntables, etc. I can't help it. But I would love to carry this around with me and then suddenly be at a party or something where the music fails and I come to the rescue. At least that's how it plays out in my mind. So peep it!

Holy fuck. How long have I been looking for you

I have wanted a cape ever since I stumbled upon a beautiful dark grey wool cape that I cannot ever find again. It could have been about a yuear ago. Mostly I find ponchos when I'm looking for my cape online. Then I came up with this idea that I will find a supercute rain cape, something with a shape that doesn't look like a plastic bag. That I have not found yet, it must exist in this magical world I created, along with white narrow calf rain boots. I made these both up in my head but haven't been able to find them in the real world. I did however find this cape by AA. I do really like it but I would like to see it in person. I'm not a huge fan of fleece in general and if I get a cape I would like it to keep me warm. Like a jacket warm, not a little coverup warm. I started working again today and I just might have found what my next paycheck is going towards. yay

As fake french as can be

Something I wanted to do besides the desktop thing was outfits. I got the idea from missbehave, they have this thing call 100 days of outfits. They've only made it to day fifty something. I'm not sure I can claim to do 100 outfits, but I'll do as many as I can before I crash and forget about this project. So this is outfit #1 and it's my fake french outfit. I asked for the scarf for christmas and my mom got the hat to go with it. Both from street vendors in nyc, glasses too. The coat was from some hole in the wall coat store in ny, it was $20. The sweater was a gift most likely from like saks or something. The striped shirt underneath is from the walrus, a thrift store near my school. Pants are from U.O. and the black booties are from wal-mart of all places. They were $5 and I had a moment of weakness. I wear them almost daily these days, they got kinda fucked up from the salt but I pretend not to notice. I hope you like outfit #1

I may have gone to a party

I'm not really down with the social scene at my school, so when I go to a good party it makes me very happy. I had a nice adventure that led to being at this party. The person whose chest I am in is Ashton, she loves her boobs. I guess I thought they were pretty good too.

wait, one more.

This picture is from Juxtapoz, it's one of the links on the side in the art & music section. it's an awesome magazine and this is a fly ass piece. inauguration, wheeeeeee

Fuck yes, inauguration.

So after a few hours of scrambling and waiting to hear back from people I finally got a ride to inauguration!! We're driving to frederick and then there are buses from there. I hope I don't get crushed or freeze to death, but I am soooooooooo happy to go. There are going to be so many people there and it is such an awesome fucking thing that this man is going to be our president. For christmas my oldest brother gave me an Obama belt buckle and there is no better time to wear it then tomorrow. Today is Martin Luther King Jr. day, I'm not ignoring that I'm just to psyched for Barack. so... YAY MLK! On a more self-absorbed note, I have no idea what to wear tomorrow. I doubt anyone will be looking at my outfit, but I think I should be dressed to the nines. My main concern is warmth, I'm from Florida and winter takes a tough toll on me. Yet at the same time I want to dress patriotic. On election day I wore this Jackie-O inspired outfit; red wool high-waisted skirt, blue & white striped button down shirt, lots of pearls and white peep toe flats. Ooh and a navy blazer. The pictures I took were awful so I'll let you imagine a prettier picture. I'm ripping my shirt open like the hulk in the actual picture, I was really excited. So I can't wear the same outfit but something close to it, I guess. Either way I'll take hundreds of pictures and put some up. FUCK YES OBAMA

Desktop OCD?

I have a thing with the desktop of my computer. My mac is my lover and when my mood changes the desktop changes. I'm always on it for hours and , I can get sick of a picture really quickly. I was thinking about doing some continuous things on my blog. One of them being showing my desktop every so often and explaining what mood I was in that made it change. I collect pictures that I find online that I like and put them into this folder called "etc." Rarely do I repeat pictures. Over the holiday I was in a good mood, I was happy to be back in NY and I was happy to be in Brooklyn. I was running around and super busy but for a part of it I was being so silly. Since this has been my desktop I haven't felt as silly as the day I put it up, but now I want it to remind me to be silly. At school it's too cold for sillyness. I hope others love this picture as much as I do. I still haven't figured out which one I am. Most likely Cher I'm not country enough or have the boobs to be Dolly.
xoxo

There would have been a show.

Today is thursday and every thursday night is my radio show. Feel free to listen from here or here. It's called the Electric Jellyfish and normally it runs from 7-8. It's my favorite time of the week because I get to sit there for an hour and think about nothing except for music. Now today I had a meeting from 6-7 so I was anxious to get out of my meeting so I could go do my show. But since it was a new year the security wanted a new key list and the station manager forgot to send it in. So I couldn't get the key and didn't have my show. Hopefully next thursday everything will be in order. I got some new music and really can't wait to play it. I get really into artists for a little while and then won't play them for months. Right now I've been listening to Lykke Li, MGMT, Nat King Cole, Animal Collective, Billie Holiday and a few Amy Winehouse songs. In about two weeks, that'll change. Except for Billie. I will always listen to her.

P.S. I want this shirt.

I found this shirt during one of my many hours of doing random searching online. I think it's the classiest NWA shirt I have ever seen. Some have album covers and huge pictures which is nice but I still think this is better. I've been really into big lettering on t-shirts, but I guess a lot of people are right now. I don't own it yet but I will soon. If you're a fan of NWA then you'll be a fan of this shirt. If you're not a fan of NWA, why not?

Such a creeper device

I keep seeing these commercials late night when I'm watching tv. I think these are such a creeper device. I understand the wanting to watch a movie while someone is sleeping I guess but there is no reason to have this, besides being a super creep. They are always talking about being able to hear other peoples conversations and it's always some guy overhearing that two girls think he's cute. Fucking creep.

Flying Fuck

I am absolutely in love with this necklace. I can't find it anywhere. This picture was in a blog post a few years ago and that blog no longer exists. I've googled "flying fuck necklace" and similar things come up but none as good as this one. If anyone finds it I would be in your debt.

I will always love Amy Winehouse

Apparently Amy Winehouse is getting her life together, but even if she didn't I will always be a fan. I have her two albums Frank and Back to Black and both are really good. I love her voice and her crazy drug induced stunts. I loved Back to Black and had to warm up to Frank but the songs I would say that are the best (on both albums) would be: Tears dry on their own, Wake up alone, I heard love is blind and (There is) no greater love. we'll see if she keeps out of trouble and stops putting cigarettes out on her face.

xoxo

Hooray for obsession

I have decided to start a blog. I have an obsession with fashion blogs and online stores. My obsession has become my inspiration. I figured that I should do something constructive with my time and this is what I have started. My friends and I like to dress up and sometimes take pictures. I go to college hopefully  working on my dream of becoming a teacher. I love music and art, and fashion as art. I just arrived back to school and am getting ready to start spring semester. Hopefully we get some great pictures out of it.

xoxo
